Modes of Action of Levofloxacin :
- Levofloxacin functions by inhibiting DNA gyrase, a type II topoisomerase and topoisomerase IV which is an enzyme necessary to separate to replicated DNA, thereby inhibiting cell division
General Description about Levofloxacin :
- Levofloxacin is a synthetic broad spectrum antibiotic for pathogens. It is third generation fluoroquinolone. It treats severe bacterial infections that have failed to respond to other antibacterial classes.
- Levofloxacin is a broad spectrum antibiotic that is active against both gram +ve & gram -ve bacteria along with mycoplasma.
Indication :
- An effective antimicrobial activity against severe Systemic infections like Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRD), Complicated Chronic Respiratory Disease (CCRD), Colisepticaemia, Salmonellosis, infectious Coryza, Fowl Cholera, Necrotic Enteritis, Gangrenous Dermatitis, nonspecific & secondary bacterial infections during viral diseases, etc.
Administration :
Directions for preparing RESTRICT-L® medicated solution :
Transfer required quantity of RESTRICT-L® in the bucket Add approximately 2 litres of drinking water. Stir thoroughly until dissolution. Add this concentrated solution in the drinking water.
Prepare fresh solution every time prior to use for desired results.
Dosage:
For Treatment :
10 mg Levofloxacin/kg body weight for 3 - 5 days. or RESTRICT-L ®@1g/10 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days.

as recommended by the Nutritionist/Veterinarian.
