Venco Research & Breeding Farm Private Limited was established in the year 1980 by Venkateshwara Hatcheries Group with an objective of providing Indian Broiler Farmers, an economically viable broiler breed most suitable under tropical agro-climatic conditions, husbandry practices and market requirement in the Indian subcontinent. This initiative of VH Group with a vision to make India self-reliant in broiler sector with the aim to free India from perpetual importation of broiler grandparents.

Venco is engaged in pure line breeding of broilers with a commitment to breed broiler/broiler breeder under Indian agro-climatic conditions and husbandry practices, which include feed and feeding practices and India’s evolving market requirement. Venco has been on forefront to provide the Indian broiler sector, products tailor made to suit evolving market requirements for the last four decades. Initially, when broiler was introduced in Indian chicken market, Venco came out with Vencobb100. Later when the consumer began demanding higher meat yield and better FCR, Venco introduced Vencobb400 in the year 2001 and later Vencobb430 in 2014 with most efficient feed conversion with higher meat yield. With further improvement in FCR and meat yield Venco introduced Vencobb430Y in the Indian market.

Venco has been constantly upgrading and expanding its research facilities in order to provide a product that is most profitable and adapted to changing paradigm of broiler farming. Primary focus of Venco R and D team has been to make continuous improvement in the existing products along with developing new products from time to time based on the likely changes in the market requirements in India with an objective to make broiler farming more sustainable.

Venco has been recognised as in-house R &D unit by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Venco received R & D award for Best R & D efforts in the Industry by Department of Science & Technology, Government of India in the year 1990.

Venco also received Best productivity Award by National Productivity Council in 1997 at the hands of President of India.

United States Department of Agriculture has provided a grant of Rs.40 Lakhs in 1987 to Venco for a research project on “Feed Efficiency of Broilers” which was successfully accomplished in 1994 and was very well appreciated by USDA scientists with a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr.G.L.Jain & Associates.

Vencobb products have consistently outperformed all internationally reputed broiler breeds that are marketed in India over last 4 decades. Vencobb products are first choice of all entrepreneurs in the broiler sector of India.

Venco is also engaged in breeding of coloured bird over a decade. Its consistent research has resulted into development of look-alike of desi birds-Vencobb Colour. Vencobb colour birds are more prolific and economical with better growth and feed conversion among similar category of the products available in India. This product is most suitable for rural upliftment programs of Government besides commercial farming.

Venco is the only premier broiler breeding program in India and only third in the world besides the other two located in USA & Europe. Vencobb products enjoy a prominent position in the Indian Market for more than 4.5 decades with 80% market share of over 620 Crore broilers in 2025.

Venco has Grand Parent units at 5 major locations to facilitate the uninterrupted supply of Vencobb breeders to its customers all over the country.
